A Passion for Dance
For me there is nothing more exciting than dance, it is constantly changing and evolving; it pushes boundaries, challenges us and draws us in.
Dance is so vast and varied, the smallest, subtle movement can make you cry or the sheer energy and physicality of the trained body can take your breath away.
Dance is something that is accessible to all, we naturally communicate through movement, and dance is an artistic extension of this reality.
Dance enables those that participate in it to be expressive and creative, it builds self esteem and self discipline. In both choreographic and teaching work I am constantly surprised, by different bodies, different movements and different ideas.
I love the fact that the tiniest movement can transform an image, that a change in space can completely reverse intention and meaning and that the movement could come from either the most expertly trained body or a raw enthusiastic talent.
Dance is a fascinating and infinite world, it is beautiful, ugly, raw and refined and my world would be incomplete without it.
