Biography

Company Founder and Director:

Sadie has a long history in directing dance faculties within secondary schools and has a thorough knowledge of the GCSE, A level and BTEC specifications.

As well as teaching GCSE, A level and BTEC Dance courses she has had extensive experience in community dance.

Sadie lectures at the University of Bedfordshire on their Dance and Professional Practice undergraduate degree as well as continuing to work in schools and community settings.

As well as being an experienced dance educationalist Sadie is also a practising dance artist involved in research projects, performances and is director and choreographer of Shunt Dance Company.

Sadie Hunt’s choreography has been presented at The Lakeside Theatre in Trent Park, The Sandpit Theatre St Albans, The Lilian Baylis Theatre, The Robin Howard Dance Theatre and The Newington Dance Space and will be performing at the UOB theatre and as part of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2010.

Sadie was born and raised in West Sussex and gained her BA in Dance at Roehampton University, and her Masters degree in Choreography at Middlesex University. She has a PGCE in dance education, is a council member of the Laban Guild. Her research interests are in Laban studies to enhance/ improve dance education, and transposing visual art work into dance as process and product. Sadie has studied and worked with Erika Stanton, Angela Kane, Chris Bannerman, Kate Flatt, Athina Vahla, Alexandra Carter, Maggie Killingbeck, Anna Carlisle and Ann Nugent.


For Sadie, dance is much more than a vocation, it is a passion.
